🔥At #IRISSCON 2024, Onur Korucu captivated the audience with her powerful insights into how AI is reshaping cybersecurity strategies. As AI continues to redefine how we live, work, and interact, its implications for cybersecurity grow exponentially. Onur’s talk illuminated the vast opportunities AI brings to the table—and the critical challenges it presents for leaders aiming to safeguard their organisations. Why AI is a Game-Changer for Cybersecurity Onur began by describing AI as a double-edged sword in the cyber landscape—think of the plot twists in #StarWars or #Terminator. On one side, AI offers capabilities like real-time threat detection, rapid response, and automated defences that cybersecurity professionals could only dream of a few years ago. On the other, AI introduces new risks and complexities that demand a strategic, thoughtful approach. For C-suite leaders responsible for guiding their organisations through today’s shifting threat landscape, AI can be a powerful ally—but only if approached wisely. A critical insight from Onur’s talk was how organisations can leverage AI-driven risk assessment to transition from reactive to proactive cybersecurity strategies. With AI-powered predictive analytics, businesses can anticipate and address threats before they escalate. Advanced machine learning algorithms help detect patterns in network traffic and flag anomalies that might otherwise go unnoticed, empowering security teams to take pre-emptive action. This capacity for early detection is especially valuable in an environment where cyber threats evolve constantly. To truly harness AI’s potential, Onur advocated for embedding it within a security-by-design framework. She shared practical steps for C-suite executives to achieve this, starting with fostering collaboration across teams. When AI is integrated into an organisation’s core systems, it must be implemented with cross-functional alignment, combining insights from IT, data protection, legal, and business strategy. Onur’s session was a call to action for leaders to adopt an AI-driven, security-by-design approach that’s in sync with the rapid evolution of today’s tech landscape. She highlighted the need for cybersecurity strategies that are not static but adaptable, able to scale and pivot as new technologies and threats emerge. A Leadership Mandate Onur’s IRISSCON talk underscored that AI in cybersecurity is not just a #technical enhancement but a #strategic necessity. She encouraged leaders to view AI as a core part of their risk management toolkit, one capable of unlocking new levels of resilience. Her advice to those beginning this journey? Start small, but build with vision. The economics of AI and quantum computing were the focus of Day 3 of the Saïd Business School, University of Oxford AI Diploma module. Great talks by Dr. Bige Kahraman Alper and Dr. Kristin M. Gilkes, Ph.D.. I learned these: 1. Economics of AI: - Secular Trend vs. Bubble: AI’s growth is driven by advancements in computing power, data storage, and open-source software, indicating a lasting impact despite some characteristics of a market bubble. - The landscape of AI regulation is evolving, with both government and private sector initiatives playing crucial roles. Governments are enacting regulations to ensure data privacy, security, and ethical AI use, such as EU’s GDPR and the new AI Act. But would they harm the local economy too much? Meanwhile, private sector solutions, such as Apple’s app tracking transparency, are setting new standards for data protection and user privacy. - Companies must focus on using AI to create unique competitive advantages. Simply improving operational efficiency is not enough; strategic, innovative use of AI is crucial for staying ahead. 2. Quantum Computing: - Quantum Advantage: Quantum computing can solve problems that are currently unsolvable by classical computers, providing unexpected and faster solutions. The recent advancements in qubit stability is a game changer. - From DNA sequencing to financial portfolio optimization, quantum computing is already making significant strides. It has the potential to revolutionize industries by dramatically reducing computation times and enhancing precision. - Quantum computing operates on principles like superposition and entanglement, allowing it to explore multiple possibilities simultaneously. Imagine solving complex problems instantly by considering all potential solutions at once—my mind was blown! #AI #QuantumComputing

Aydem Enerji serves 6 million customers in Türkiye. Climate disruptions and tourism peaks cause call volume spikes, challenging timely customer assistance. Aydem Energy and Softtech used Azure OpenAI Service to create an AI assistant for WhatsApp, providing real-time updates and handling meter readings, bill checks, and claims. Results? 1) The AI assistant handles 1,000 interactions daily, equivalent to 10 people's workload. 2) 90% of inquiries are fully resolved - no need to another engagement 3) 900 less calls to queue and receive for human agents. November 10th is a day to remember Mustafa Kemal Atatürk and reflect on how far Turkey has come. In the past two decades, Turkey has changed swiftly. Technology advanced, industry grew, and a young population rose with great promise. But Atatürk’s vision was not just about economic progress. At the core of his ideals were science, education, freedom, and the rule of law. As we continue on the path he set, we understand how vital these values are for Turkey’s future. True progress is not about wealth alone—it’s about a nation enlightened, educated, and just. This November 10th, let’s honor his legacy not as a memory but as a guide. Turkey’s future depends on walking forward with strength, in the light he left for us. 🌹
